Payday Loans Can Be Abused

Payday loans are a great way to get the money you need when in between paychecks. This money can be used for any reason that you see fit. Obtaining a loan is quick and easy. You can obtain one online or in loan office. To qualify for a loan, many lenders require that you be employed for a certain period of time, provide proof of your employment, and have a checking account. You can qualify for any amount ranging between fifty and five hundred dollars. Once you are approved for a payday loan, your loan will be issued within one to five business days depending on the lender.

While loans do offer you the convenience of getting money when you need it, it does come with a responsibility. Much like with any other type of loan, you are subject to an interest that will be applied to your loan amount. Unlike traditional loans, your interest rate will be quite high. This is mainly due to the fact that you are taking out a short term loan which generally has to be paid back on the date of your next paycheck. Since it is a short term loan, you do not have an extended period of time where smaller interest rates can be applied over time. This could cause you to lose out on money that you would normally have available if you waited until payday.

Payday loans are designed to be a short term solution for an unexpected expense. They are not designed to be an income supplement. Because there is a high interest rate applied to these loans, consistently taking a loan out can cause you to go further into debt. The interest payments that you would pay on multiple payday loans will take away from the money that you need to survive as well as take care of your normal bills. Continuing to take out loans consistently will eventually lead to you not having money to spare at all and cause you to go deeper and deeper into debt.

Payday loans can also be abused when they are used to make frivolous purchases. There are times when your heart's desire is for a particular item you might have seen at a local retailer or at the mall. Next thing you know you see it on sale and do not have the money to purchase it now. You take out a loan so that you can buy that item, pay it back, and then see something else that you want to be. The cycle can continue until you find yourself struggling to pay your normal bills.
